Memories of a City is a project exploring memories attached to cities in collaboration with the general public. Developed by Luca, the final outcome for each city will be a digitally collaged piece - see example work below. This will be achieved through a collection of photo submissions that are collaged together.
Featured cities can be from a variety of contexts; where you grew up, a memorable holiday, somewhere you have only passed through, and anything inbetween and beyond!
The form will start off by asking you about memories and emotions you have in connection with your city(ies) of choice. Themes of nostalgia, happiness, grief, anger and more are expected and welcome. Please only share what you are comfortable with. These submissions are anonymous unless you have left your Instagram username at the end of the form.
The form will then allow you to upload your architectural images. This form allows for up to 10 images. You can put in as many submissions as you like, but please only respond with one city per form. Images should be of good quality. They may be shot on professional cameras, phones, or any other appropriate medium. See the example work above to get a good idea of what would be an appropriate submission.
As responses come in, cities with enough architectural submissions will be developed. Each city can take anywhere from 5 to 20 buildings to be complete, so each city is subject to sufficient responses. Luca may supplement in their own photography if they have visited the city to reach the required number of submissions.
As long as this form is still taking submissions, this project continues, with hopes of reaching a national and international audience - the options for cities are endless.
